I just watched our story on WHYY Newsworks.org again. I am proud of my partners, who told our story really well in their interviews.
And I want to thank Maria Hess, editor-in-chief of Delaware Today, for giving us a Delaware Today spot, and agreeing to be interviewed on WHYY. Her interview reminded me that there are always alternative points of view.
On a few rare occasions, people will say that what we do is not for everyone. And we see that. People may be timid around their peers or have a fear of traditional team building excursions. That’s just not something that happens often in the workplace.

In 1906, the game of football was changed forever.
It was that year that the forward pass was legalized by the “Rules Committee” that oversaw and ensured the evolution of the sport(1). At the time Eddie “E.B.” Cochems was football coach at St. Louis University and he began to utilize the forward pass as part of his strategy to win games! Are Office Holiday Parties Like Fruitcake?

Something tells me I’m about to see fruitcake hit the shelves in our local supermarkets. Not that I’m a big grocery store shopper, mind you, but I always puzzle over that fruitcake display. I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone tell me they’re looking forward to holiday fruitcake. Where does that stuff end up after the holidays, anyway?
Fruitcakes are like Office Holiday Parties; usually met with an obligatory thank you, not happy anticipation. People don’t look forward to getting a fruitcake gift. It’s rarely the star of the holiday buffet. Continue reading…
